About Us

Chris and Corine Kollen are the proud owners of the Dutch Quality Flowers shop at 95 High Street, Totnes, Devon. Chris, born in 1959, and Corine, born in 1962, both from The Hague in the Netherlands, decided after spending their holidays for the last 20 years in Devon, to make the step and move to live there.

Chris who has been in the Dutch Land registry for 30 years and Corine who has been a medical secretary for over 20 years decided to make a career move and enter the flower trade. For that purpose, Chris took on a study at the Boerma Institute in Aalsmeer, the centre of the flower trade in the Netherlands. After completing his study, he worked as an apprentice for 9 months at a very successful flower shop in Aplhen aan den Rijn, where he learned the tricks of the trade. Corine followed courses making hand tied bouquets at the Boerma Institute.

Chris and Corine have two children, Peter who’s 18, studying in Holland, and Marith, aged 22, who just finished her Bachelors in Music and Event management at a university in Rotterdam. Openings times: from Monday till Saturday between 8:30 and 18:00
